Hello Folks,

I have an Model X order and VIN Got assigned just two days back.

My Model X costs me around 91k including six seats and Yolk before EV Credits and Business usage claim ( Purchased for Business). While I was waiting for my X I was able to find a Certified BMW 2023 X7 that has 10k miles and optional features that can cost you 110k today if you buy new. It also qualifies for business usage not for EV Credit though.its costing around 89k.

If you are in my scenario what would you choose? I think both are still good deals.

X7 is the answer. The Model X has a world of issues and is looking old already. Your sanity will thank you while you cruise around in your new bimmer.

You’re on the bmw sub. But, it depends what is important. They each have their advantages.

Bmw will have better build quality and better service. It will likely have worse resale value. It will feel more luxurious and have higher quality materials.

Tesla is great at being an electric vehicle. They have the best range and charging (due to access to superchargers). They also have tremendous performance and will be significantly faster off the line than the x7. They also have a better autopilot and self driving system than bmw.

Hopefully you already know the difference between ice and electric vehicles and their advantages and disadvantages. This is really the true thing you should be figuring out before a purchase.

Not really accurate on autopilot and self driving. BMW ranks near the top and Tesla is near the bottom at those.

Great EV tech: Tesla, great build quality, interior and driving experience, BMW. BMW and Porsche are the two brands who do the whole making an SUV feel vastly smaller than it actually is handling wise thing best of all, the X5 in particular feels very sporty and sedan-like, but the X7 is good too. Despite the low CG, Teslas don’t give that feeling of being small and light, even the model 3 feels heavier than it really is for some reason.

Elon is just such a nut I could never support him. Plus they’re a tech company that builds cars, not a real car company. I’d get an X5 wait a few years the EVs will hopefully be better by then and hopefully not 95k

We have a 2021 X7 M 50i and a 2023 IX M60 and love them both. The X7 is bigger which is better when driving our 2 labs, the sound of the X7 is awesome along with the power although the IX is even faster than the X7 and super fun to drive. They are very different but both awesome vehicles.

On build quality alone go bmw. It is not even a contest. I sat in a 1 year old tesla, and honestly, it’s trash, and I’m comparing it to a 1 year old 3 series a sat in last month, not even my 8 years 4 series which still kicks the tesla ass

These two cars have absolutely nothing in common aside from 4 wheels and the letter “X”.

If having an EV and/or being a fan of Elon are the most important things to you, get the Tesla - otherwise it’s not even close.

I’m guessing since you’re considering both, you haven’t test driven each of them. You should do that.

👆 Teslas are cool, until you get up close. And especially when you drive one. There is absolutely no comparison between these two. Maybe an argument can be made between a base model X3 and a Model 3… but a loaded X7? Two different worlds.

A good friend of mine has a Model Y, and the fit and finish, as well as the quality of the materials is wholly underwhelming and makes me feel that Teslas are massively overpriced. And other than the acceleration and self-driving, I prefer my 15-year-old E91.

Another friend has a Polestar, and that, on the other hand, feels like an actual luxury car worthy of the price tag.

Teslas have one of the highest profit margins per vehicle sold, and why elon has been constantly doing cost reductions to ensure market share

X3 is a SUV while a Model 3 is a small sedan, how do you compare the two? You mean maybe a base 3 series vs Model 3, or even a 4 door 2 series?

Close the door hard on a BMW and listen to the sound.

Close the door hard on a Tesla and listen to the sound.

    Enjoy your BMW.

ModelX and X5 are better comparisons to be honest. I would just go with x5 50e to have best of both worlds
