To avoid someone else facing repercussions for the crime, no matter how unlikely that there’s gonna be someone named Lee John Oswald, there might be. (You could argue that since Oswald is dead, this shouldn’t be a problem, but that’s where the logic comes from)

DMV Worker - That’s not what the system says. It also days you shot President Kennedy. If you wanted a license you shouldn’t have done that. LJO - That wasn’t me. That was Lee HARVEY Oswald.
