All I have had before this is a playstation and I’m overwhelmed. I buy most of my AAA Games on PS5.

I’m looking for some awesome games on sale right now that run great on the Steam Deck.

For $12.00 you can get the Mass Effect Legendary Edition, which is all three remastered games plus all their DLCs save one, which has been restored by the modding community.

At $9.99 you should also look at the Master Chief Collection of Halo, which gives you all the mainline games up to Reach (including the remasters of the first two) as well as the multiplayer for all of them.

And while the base game alone does fit your price limit, the Complete Edition of Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is only a little bit more but adds easily 50-60 hours of additional story content, never mind the extra armours and game mechanics.

I mean, if you’re into racing games Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered is $3.50 right now and it’s easily one of the best games Criterion has put out since the original Burnout games.

Only thing is it’s not “open world” like the newer NFS games and unfortunately it uses the EA app as a launcher before it launches through Steam. (you can disable the EA in game overlay after it launches by deleting the “IGO64.dll” file in the games directory files, just search for it in desktop mode)

Paired with Spotify running in the background of your favorite fast music tracks, it’s pretty damn fun!

Halo master chief collection is 9.99$. You get 6 full campaigns and online. I didn’t enjoy playing fps cause I suck at them with controller but halo is just MADE for it.

Soulstone Survivors is far more than a “clone” of Vampire Survivors. The gameplay during a run is similar, but the variety of characters, the power of available pools, the breadth of passive boosts, the extensive per-character skill progression… all lead to a game that doesn’t deserve to be referred to as a “clone” of anything.

Install Chiaki & play all your PS5 AAA’s on the Deck, it’ll give you the handheld experience without the cost of duplication & much better/faster than the Steam duplicates with the highest quality & fps.

That’s how I now mostly use my deck - older PC games - Deck anything new - PS5 it’s saving me a fortune on duplication & importantly internal storage.

Do you have any tips for how to make this work well? Does it entirely have to do with a strong internet connection? I tried this with Baldur’s Gate 3 and unfortunately the performance was lagging and every once in awhile I would get a random white frame appear. The console was in a different room from where I was but that doesn’t seem like it should make a difference.

I read somewhere that chiaki4deck runs better. Their official install guide has some settings to change for optimal quality. Seems to work well for me

Yup, when I say Chiaki I’m saying Chiaki4 also. I didn’t do anything other than that the information guide said. I’ve never tried anywhere other than at home, I play in the living room, network is all wired apart from Deck which uses its WiFi. The WiFi on my Deck has always been shit, always constantly dropping off from the Steam system - after a long time I found a fix, switch on developer options & there’s a WiFi option (can’t remember it offhand) but you turn it to the opposite of what it is by default so on or off.

That may be why my Chiaki works flawlessly - I have no idea.

Can you explain this cost of duplication? I’ve thought about this. If I buy Witcher 3 on Steam, is it a better experience than just streaming it from my PS5 with Chiaki?

Not for me, I have Witcher on PS5 & Deck - everything on PS5 via Chiaki is perfect, EVERY game I’ve duplicated has been rubbish in comparison - there is one exception, “Dying Light” it plays excellently with no stuttering (that I’ve found so far at least) Cost? The first games I bought were HZD, Days Gone & later GOW (all free on PS5) they cost an additional £150 & they played - but not very well. CryoUtilities2 has helped run them better for me now though.

I grabbed What The Golf for $5 and it’s been very fun as a good casual game to kill some time and have a few laughs with.

Slay the Spire - hands down one of the best games to pick up in that price range.

N++ is a great puzzle game with loads of levels and great music. You play as a ninja that jumps and slides around trying to speed run each level. You can play a few levels if you have 5 minutes to spare on your deck, or sink in for hours.
