This is beyond frustrating. It’s like Joe is actively trying to lose his bid for re-election. It is so fucking insulting that the American people are being forced to choose between accepting this neo-liberal chicanery or effectively ending democracy.

I hate that every argument I have against what he’s doing makes me come off as an antisemitic douche but it REALLY seems like our government isn’t in control of what they’re doing.

edit: to clarify, I’m not talking about the anti-genocide arguments, I don’t need to make those because they’re clear. What hold does Israel have over us that we have to get in the middle of this when they should easily be able to handle it, and how in the hell does it have bi-partisan support when few people in the US on either side seem to support it.

“I don’t want the response to horrific things to be more horrific things inflicted on those who have no control of these events.”

That seems pretty cut and dry…

I mean that to be a bit deeper.

We (the US) tend to stick our dicks in places when there’s some clear advantage or disadvantage to not doing it. We’re usually cock-blocking communist advances or looking to control natural resources.

It’s one thing to say you’re going in because this event happened or that event happened, but it’s pretty damned clear that this is Israel trying to kill off what’s left of Palestine. Why are we so deep into this?

Who is we and deep into what?

I simply responded to your statement that you couldn’t think of a way to express the position without sounding as if you were against another people.

            It feels very very simple.

The actions of those who cause harm to innocent people are deplorable. Those who order such actions or commit them, should be held accountable. I don’t have to say any proper nouns or even make it specific to this conflict to express that.

Only because anything you say is met with “that’s antisemitism!” – if I’m gonna be called an antisemite because I don’t believe that the Jewish people are better than the Palestinian people, then I guess I’m an antisemite.

There is a lot of that going around. The Jews have been thoroughly persecuted for years, there will definitely be a strong tendency for them to jump to that conclusion. There are a number of Jewish people that are standing up and saying what’s happening is wrong.

My problem is, how are we so deep into this conflict? Is there some form of conspiracy here that crosses party lines deep enough that we’re doing this, in the 11th hour of an election cycle? There’s no oil in this, there’s no impending risk of Hamas actually taking over Israel right? They don’t need the entire US stockpile to get the job done right?

The actual answer is much simpler and dumber. Israel has a strong lobbying arm in the US, and half the country believes Israel must exist (and apparently be unconditionally supported) for their precious ‘End Times’ to come. Combine those two factors, and very few politicians are willing to go against support for Israel.

Nah, you’re just an anti-zionist. Nothing wrong with being anti-zionist. But the pro-zionist people equate anti-zionist to antisemitism, Which is bullshit.

Also, you’re not antisemitic for what you’re saying, it’s how you’re saying it while being an antisemite. \s

“They have a world class military. They can handle it without more ways to kill Palestinians” is antisemitic?

        Or, “we shouldn’t support genocide”?

So, being called out as antisemetic inherently makes one antisemetic?

they have a world class military. we’ve given them a some of the best equipment in the world- the entire west has. They can handle some terrorists that barely rate the term ‘paramilitary’. In fact, they can handle Hamas without killing nearly as many civilian deaths, if they really wanted to.

It’s because we voted “anti-establishment”. We tried going for Bernie but then the DNC took care of that. Then Donnie boy was “obviously never gonna win.” And America said screw you we don’t want the SAME elitist bullshit. Donnie won threw the world for a loop and you know what they decided?

To punish us. To encourage Trump, to outrage us at everything he did wrong and incite him to do worse. Ever wonder why he’s not in jail? Because he’s the clown they keep punishing us with.

See vote for Clinton, or Biden, or Bush because LOOK at the alternative!

That’s not real democracy. Real democracy would’ve been Bernie getting the DNC nomination like he deserved. Real democracy would’ve been ranked choice voting where we don’t have to pick the shortest steaming pile of shit!

You took the words right out of my mouth. It isn’t real democracy, you’re exactly right. I’m tired of feeling the shame and disgust of having to vote for the lesser of two evils candidate. I’m tired of the violence. I’m tired of all of it.

Joe Biden at home: “eh, they’re still a little too brown for me to stop them from dying…”
