Thinking about getting a EV. Just curious why you got yours. The reasons I can think of are:

  • Environmentally friendly 🌵
  • Cheaper Fuel ⚡️
  • They are cool/trendy 😎
  • Lower maintenance 🔧

Is there anything surprising that you found out after you bought it?

    1. I got a job in the burbs after a public transit commute downtown. I’m in the city planning sphere and didn’t like the fact that I was adding vehicle miles traveled to my life, but at least I’ve eliminated my tailpipe emissions when doing so. My power generation mix in my town is already better than average and is aggressively improving.
    2. I’m done being a “car guy” and don’t want to have to think about my car. Getting it smogged, oil changes, etc. are chores I don’t want.
    3. Honestly once you stop going to gas stations, you realize how disgusting they are.
