Who is the biggest “what if” player of all time? What I mean by this is a player who could’ve had a dramatically different or better career if he had chose a different option.

One of my picks is Neymar. What if he stayed at Barcelona?

I’m suprised no one mentioned Antonio Cassano. He is the most obvious answer, maybe the most talented player ever but just did not give a single fuck ever. Still had a decent career but had the potential to be one of the best.

Arsenal’s Eduardo if that injury hadn’t happened. He had been looking quite exciting.

I’ve recently watched a youtube video about Paulo Futre. I always thought I knew generally everything about football, but when I saw him it seemed like there was so much that I’ve not seen. Futre was top class, it’s a shame that he got injured during his peak. He was Maradona’s favorite player.

Another one is the Brazilian wonderkid, Dener who tragically passed away at 23 in a car accident days before his move to Europe. He used to play against Maradona, and after the match the Argentine legend went to the opponent’s dressing room just to shake hands with Dener.

I’m not a big Maradona’s fan, he just happened to be in both stories 😂

What if Ronaldo signed for Man City instead of Man Utd the second time round and Haaland never made it to City?

Ousmane Dembele, what if he wasn’t so injury prone and had more discipline and ambition? I’ve never seen a player more both footed than him, you can see it in the way he runs, with and without the ball, dribbles, shoots, etc. There are players who have almost perfected their weak foot later in their career, but Ousmane was like that since he was at Rennes, before he moved to Dortmund. He was beating defenders mainly with body feints and fake shots/crosses. He is so impossible to read precisely because he has no weak foot, how can any defender possibly call the bluff on a player’s body feints, fake shots and crosses when the guy can do everything so well with each one of his feet? He was such an immense and unique talent at Dortmund…

Arjen Robben without injouries. Man played on Messi/Ronaldo level in his best year. Sadly only that one year he wasn’t injured…
