I’m just typing this out to see if I can parse the mental gymnastics.

Donald Trump organized a big rally to protest the election. Nobody attended except hard core Biden fans who then decided to attack the Capitol to prevent Biden from becoming President, Meanwhile, Trump failed to call out the National Guard to stop the Biden supporters because…

See? I can’t make it make sense, but I guess that’s because I wasn’t homeschooled.

The biggest giveaway was when key alt right congress people said it was antifa and when people suggested that it be investigated, they still said no.

I mean, it was antifa or it was Trump supporters. Pick a lane.

They don’t say things to make sense or to convince normal, not bugfuck insane people, it’s to give their increasingly untethered to reality based ginned up and angry at ghosts of real problems.

Kinda like how they want to subpoena and question Hunter Biden.

He says, “Sure, no problem, as long as it’s done in public, in front of cameras.”

        And they say no.

        It’s so blatantly obvious.

I haven’t been following the whole Hunter Biden thing.

What’s their reason for having a closed door session?

Because they want to be the only ones who can walk out of the room and tell the story of what went on. Basically: if it’s done in public they won’t be able to lie about it.

They know they are full of shit. Also something about not wanting Dems to have public opportunity to address their line of questioning because somehow it’ll waste more time than what they’re wasting already (and they know it will make them look stupid. Again.)

You’re talking about people who think JFK, Jr. faked his death, that it isn’t possible to just synthesize adrenochrome even if it did have some sort of effect the rich and powerful Democrats want it for, and that there’s a child sex ring in the basement of a pizza restaurant that has no basement.

In fact, the two men were not antifa. They were Trump supporters.

In a world full of wishy washy statements, I love when journalists get to state something so bluntly.

They should keep this up, and not amplify the lies. I want to see headlines along the lines of “X lies about immigration to Y”, and bury the lies in the article.

I always wonder what these assholes think when they’re being accused by their fellow trumpers of being antifa. Clearly they know they’re not. Does this open their eyes that maybe the right is full of shit about other wild claims too?

I always wonder what these assholes think when they’re being accused by their fellow trumpers of being antifa.

The day this went down, one of the guys who was there, while recording himself, said “antifa was also there”. This was based on nothing and this statement wasn’t meant for anyone who values evidence in the first place.

He knew he fucked up and no matter much they deny it most of them knew they had done something wrong. Throwing out antifa randomly is just a defense mechanism.

That’s the value of antifa to the right - it’s ill-defined and nebulous on purpose - they’re everywhere and nowhere, everyone and no one. Anything can be blamed on antifa because antifa isn’t an organization so disproving anyone’s membership in antifa is impossible.

      The perfect Boogeyman.

Nah they are just holding the shit bag for Trump, thinking that he will cover their legal fees. Meanwhile he will light the bag of shit on fire in their hands to distract others.

Desperate & pathetic. Why the fuck would “we” protest our own win?

A full month before Jan 6th we all knew what was going to happen at the Capitol & were being told to stay away & let the cops deal with it.

Not helpful to keep regurgitating the Trump Rep narrative of these assholes being Antifa in the first place.

The moment the idea that Jan 6th people where BLM or ANTIFA was floated by a high school friend I started a public Facebook post collecting every news article I came across that identified each person that got caught. So far it’s one troll and a whole bunch of rabid Trump supporters.

I haven’t gone through the other links yet, but the Wikipedia page doesn’t suggest he’s anything other than a typical fringe right AnCap. He even has ties to the Proud Boys. I don’t think you can make an argument that he’s both tied to the Proud Boys and Antifa.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

In late 2020, ahead of the Capitol attack, Lewis’ Facebook page featured anti-Hunter Biden memes, a celebration of the appointment of Amy Coney Barrett, reposts of both Donald Trump Jr. and then-Trump attorney Jenna Ellis, as well as praise for former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany: “Savage, Patriot, Fearless, Warrior 🇺🇲.”

Another recent Jan. 6 arrestee who had also been the subject of claims he was antifa is Paul Orta, who wore a dark-colored balaclava on Jan. 6 and was seen ripping down fencing as the mob began flooding onto the restricted grounds of the Capitol, in footage cited by the FBI.

Complicating the effort to shoot down conspiracies about the identities of individual rioters is the fact that there are hundreds of Jan. 6 participants who have been identified by online “sedition hunters” but not arrested.

But most of those men have been arrested and identified, like Trump supporter Edward Kelley, who the feds say was wearing the black sweatshirt of an anti-abortion organization when he jumped through a broken window and kicked open a fire door.

The man, according to the sleuths and evidence reviewed by NBC News, was previously charged for threatening a Democratic official in his home state, his Facebook profile currently features the words “MAGA 4 EVER GOD SAVE OUR REPUBLIC 🇺🇸” and he appears to have even identified himself by name to a photographer who was on the scene as Trump supporters came back to the Capitol on Jan. 7.

Acting Deputy Attorney General Richard Donohue later said that open-source intelligence suggested that Jan. 6 “would essentially be a one-sided protest,” which was a “relief” because, in their mind, it lessened the potential for violence.

The original article contains 2,039 words, the summary contains 282 words. Saved 86%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
