Maybe not quite an internet thing, but this is scarily like the rules of most cyberpunk dystopias from before the World Wide Web existed. The internet was supposed to prevent this kind of crap from coming true, dammit!

    If the company is owned within the state that it resides, would this not just be giving rich company owners a second vote?

    The voting system as it’s supposed to be is dead. If you have enough money in Delaware, you can vote twice. That isn’t fairness, nor is it equal representation.
