Maybe not quite an internet thing, but this is scarily like the rules of most cyberpunk dystopias from before the World Wide Web existed. The internet was supposed to prevent this kind of crap from coming true, dammit!

        As if businesses in North America needed any more power.
        Also, if the business owner already voted as a person, would they then vote again (likely the same way) as the business? Wouldn’t that be voter fraud?

    The voting system as it’s supposed to be is dead. If you have enough money in Delaware, you can vote twice. That isn’t fairness, nor is it equal representation.
