“Florida Democrats don’t know why Taylor Swift is naming an upcoming song on her new album ‘Florida!!!’ or the reason she chose to hold three concerts in Miami less than a month before the November elections,” Politico reports.

“But their excitement around the news is less about ‘why?’ and more about leveraging Swift’s celebrity status to fill the blank space for beleaguered voters tired of losing to Republicans.

In a public sphere ruled by propaganda and the pull of the emotional over the rational, whoever has the most likes wins.

GOPers are seriously unlikeable motherfuckers to start with, and ALL they have is divisive fear, anger, and lies.

By stark contrast, here’s a beautiful, talented young lady with songs that somehow possess the magical ability to blow sparkly happy unicorn glitter up the collective asses of our youths. At its very worst, her music and persona are inoffensive; at best they literally have the power to unify, motivate and uplift people around the world.

The GOP is right to be terrified. They got nothing but fear and anger. And they were just as irrationally stupid and short-sighted as ever to think that their own Russian-paid propaganda was always going to be the only show in town.

I dunno, the racism and simplistic explanations seem to be pretty likeable among a certain crowd

The majority of that demographic is dying in the next couple decades. That’s why the GOP is so desprate.

If that worked, it would have happened a long time ago. There’s always been a certain group of people who are attracted to authoritarian narratives. Perhaps we won’t be locked in battle with them forever, but we can’t take it for granted that they’ll just die out.

It’s happened many times before, the old guard dies out and the party shifts further to the left just enough to win elections again.

Well, whoever spreads the most hates wins. I don’t think even the Trump fans like Trump. They just think that Dems eat babies, want to turn them into femboys, or replace them with blacks and Jews or whatever.

whoever spreads the most hates win

If true, that makes the GOP not only the most unlikeable but the most useless crowd in politics, because they keep trying – and failing HARD – to grab Trump’s base and swing it in their own direction. They’ve been trying since 2015, haven’t stopped since, and all his base has done is grow anyway despite their best efforts.

Just the other day in Nevada, when the Trumpers could have stayed home because Trump wasn’t even in the primary (he’s in a separate GOP caucus and already has all of Nevada’s RNC votes) a SIZEABLE number of Trumpers came out to vote “None of the candidates” in the primary anyway. They literally left their warm houses to go cast a vote that essentially says no more than “Fuck you Nikki Haley” IN ADDITION to whatever they do next at the caucus where Trump is actually on the ballot.

Let me say it again: Trump has ALREADY won Nevada in terms of his place on the GOP ticket, and his diehards came out to vote “None of the above” in a primary he wasn’t even in just to communicate their displeasure with the rest, lol.

If hate were all it took, nothing more would be necessary, because the GOP has all that in spades.

But propaganda needs a demogogue – someone who has a magical way of tapping into the angst of generations and making them feel seen, heard, and understood – and now we have two: a demented orange chancre and Taylor Swift.

Regardless of who wins, the GOP is right to be terrified: not just because of the magic of Taylor Swift, whatever that is, but also because Trump’s own diehard base have steadfastly refused for the last nine years to be moved by anyone else, or swayed in ANY direction, other than that of Trump himself.
