that whole icheb thing is just a ridiculous fan conspiracy. That Icheb scene didn’t come out of nowhere, it was a minor callback for VOY fans and tied into the Borg plot in PIC. they’re not going to re-write the show just to stick it to such an insignificant actor; simply casting a different actor as icheb is enough of a “fuck you” if that’s what they were going for.
it didn’t seem too ridiculous considering what he said, and they didn’t have to rewrite anything. they just had to write it. the scene was pretty over-the-top in its brutality. it didn’t take much “interpretation” to see the hostility there.
they had to write it, cut out time for it, and work it into the existing plot. basically rewriting. that season of PIC was all over the place in terms of violence, tone, etc, there’s absolutely no reason to assume the brutality of that scene was anything other than them trying to be edgy.
also the logic of murdering a character, a very minor trek character, as somehow denouncing or personally attacking a small time actor is a silly notion on its face. As I said earlier just recasting would have had the same effect to Intiraymi.
they had to write it, cut out time for it, and work it into the existing plot. basically rewriting
the incident happened in 2017. the episode came out years later. there was no “existing plot” to rewrite, lmao. and the blood and gore and horror was far beyond the rest of what happened that episode or even season.
you’re twisting yourself in knots to explain away something very obvious.
