You have that backwards. What taxes aren’t we collecting that could be going to everyone? Why should some 40K a year guy have to pay 10% of his income as taxes and someone like Bezos doesn’t?
The US used to have a 69% tax rate for the ultra wealthy before Regan took office. We should bring that back.
Bezos like most wealthy people have no standard income per se like us on regular payrolls do. So, what you want is a net worth tax. Not sure how easy that is to implement or who decides what stuff is worth. Whats wrong with a flat tax on any and all sources of income? I thing Rep. Dick Armey tried to come up with that way back when.
