It’s impossible to have a pacifistic society unless you are willing to use violence to dissuade violence. Stopping her from hurting anyone else is the point. Torturing her just because you can get away with it is pointless.
It would be for revenge, not pointless torture. We can certainly argue if revenge is pointless or not though.
