Woke up this week to about 15 really abusive replies from about 3 different account. All over something I’ve described as a personal experience. I’ve been called a “liar” and “a c***” just for describing that.

I went to block and realised I cannot. Team Youtube say this feature has been removed. What is it with these websites going Twitter/Reddit and actively making their site not just worse but harmful?

They might say that, but nobody remembers any ads. I certainly dont. I was too distracted by being called a “c***” all these times 🤷‍♂️

Adverts are kind of irrelevant in this case as with most Google tiers they get payed for a view not a click.

There are many examples where ad spots genuinely become toxic. For example, in the lead-up to Glenn Beck being canceled from Fox, they couldn’t even give away the ad spots. Remaining a sponsor was losing the advertiser sales, so they all pulled out.

Twitter right now is having trouble selling ads, because of the likelihood it will be shown next to fascist/white supremacist/hate speech, etc.

Find or start a boycott group to avoid buying products advertised on hate-based platforms. Find a separate BUYcott list to support companies that sever those ties.

Money talks; make yours say what you want it to.
