Just to clarify, I think Hamas does a much better job of keeping hostages safe than Israel does. Gaza’s water and power is being shut off and Hamas still gives their limited resources to hostages and assures them that they will be released safely, Israel on the other hand takes all of Gaza hostage by shutting off access to water and electricity. And they don’t care how many Palestinians die in the process

They aren’t perfect but they’re really fucking impressive and they keep on improving

Cuba Libre was a VERRRRY Mixed Bag of a documentary. It was (maybe still is) on Netflix and provides a bit of good info on late 1800s and early 1900s Cuban history and I forget how they handled the Revolution and Fidel (although they have awesome footage of Fidel, so not too bad I think)Overall I think it’s worth a watch (or a rewatch in my case bc I haven’t seen it in years)

I get what they mean, when I first started reading Theory, I wanted to avoid the concept of investing completely, thinking that by participating in a capitalist system and looking for financial advice to be more well off, I must be a Counter-Revolutionary. Admittedly this isn’t how I think anymore, if you wanna invest because you already have a job and don’t wanna break your back working a second one, I see no harm in safely investing properly.

I’d say that it isn’t bad to participate in a system in which you are essentially required to participate in. Much like how I wouldn’t confront a comrade for selling stuff in a garage sale or Amazon or eBay, I feel that it’s ok to invest, ESPECIALLY in 401(k)s like others mentioned. And for the love of all that is HOLY, PLEASE don’t fall for the meme of following Pelosi’s or Bezos’ stock portfolio, plenty of idiot tech bros tried doing this without understanding that the stocks they show are at least a month old, these people wouldn’t just slip up that big, also corruption laws prevent them from releasing their current stock assets (because in theory they could perpetuate a mass Pump’n’Dump scheme) and the rich definitely don’t mind that rule as long as it keeps the wealth out of the hands of the poor.

For some people it isn’t worth the argument because they’ve dug into that stance and arguing will make them dig deeper. My Libertarian friend went that route, he was Pro-Palestine, Pro-Gun and over time I changed his opinion on Unions, but he joined the US Army and no amount of talk changed their opinion, they dug in further and I barely talk to them now. That isn’t the case for everyone but just a warning

So roughly how many blocks/unfollows have yall done on Twitter/X TikTok, etc, lately? It’s been unbearable past week. I could at least handle Ukraine-flag-in-bio ppl because there are so many different kinds of people that are supporting them, and some are just normal misguided people who just hear the “X” country is being attacked narrative and just jump in vaguely in support. Plenty of funny pages and channels I see have shown support for Ukraine and its cringe but I get why. They don’t hear anything about the Euromaidan, or what the Alley of Angels means to the people of Donbass. The media NEVER covers that. To openly support Israel after the decades of hatred and violence on Palestine is unmistakably genocidal. The News was not silent when Jenin Refugee Camp was attacked. The news talked about Shireen Abu Akleh and what happened at her funeral. And that’s just recent events for those with no attention span (or not old enough) to remember the other awful events in Palestinian history that Israel resided over, most infamously being the Nakba and redrawing of maps to overwhelmingly benefit Israel at the behest of Palestine. If people wanna openly ignore that and jump out of the woodwork when Palestine defends itself, I disregard their concerns completely and I block/unfollow them depending on how egregious their posts are
