Odegaards goal yesterday is the perfect demonstration of why we haven’t been as fluid this season. Teams are now aware that if they don’t have enough players behind the ball we will carve them open with ease like we did with that goal yesterday. That’s why nearly every team we play has been stuffing the box with 7 or 8 men and we haven’t had the same space to operate.

Not really. I’ve always liked and respected Brighton. You probably couldn’t call them pure underdogs at this point, but their scouting system, development and playing style is all really admirable and it all seems to have happened very organically. I obviously wouldn’t say I support Brighton but I like seeing them do well and making European football.

Also, as others have mentioned, in 2016 our situation was made a lot less sickening by the fact it was a team like Leicester that won the league.

Tomiyasu is a gift of a player. Our first point of cover in every defensive position, can’t think of any other team who has someone like that (except one of the city guys maybe?). Really hope he doesn’t get injured this year.

Saturday has convinced me we need partey back in the team at the 6. Starting our attacking phase with Jorginho just makes us too slow and makes it easy for the opposition to get in a position to nullify us. We need parteys ability to take players out of the game in our own half and play more directly/quickly.
