Do you think, is this as comortable as holding PS5 oraz Xbox pad? Playing souls like games is trouble-free?

IMO its only comfortable if you are sitting upright; while laying down the weight is an issue for me

    No. The Layout is suboptimal.

The controls should be lower, even below the screen. Why? Because like as it is now, you need to tilt your head down all the time instead of being in an upright posture. Or you need to hold the heavy device higher that tires the arms.

I have bigger hands, and absolutely playable, but wouldn’t mind a bit bigger, xbox like handles. I have a switch lite, and I needed a big grip for that, but for the deck is comfortable enough that I don’t want to try X grip just to make it perfect.

For the first week it felt a little weird, much wider than a controller I may have been used to, but after that I never minded.

I usually rest it on some type of surface, whether that be my lap or a pillow or a table. But it’s the little things that add up to not feeling “great,” for games that require a lot of precision/quickness.

One issue is that I usually use 3 fingers on the back of the device because it’s heavy enough that just my pinky and ring finger would get tired after a while. That means bumpers are usually neglected and a bit harder to press because I feel I really have to stretch/reach more than normal with my index fingers.

But the biggest thing is muscle memory of right stick being higher than other controller’s completely makes playing shooters a no-go.

Normally, with any other controller, to look left you kind of push your right thumb “up”, to look up, you move your right thumb to the right, you look right by drawing thumb in, and look down by moving thumb left. The way the Steam deck has the right thumb stick high makes all of those moves incorrect, so it feels like I’m just not able to point things as naturally as it comes from gaming on controllers over the past 30 years of experience. I’m sure if I learned this way or retrained my brain by playing a lot more shooters on it, it would be fine, but I still play with other controllers on console/pc and not playing shooters on SteamDeck is a fine sacrifice.

Yes it is comfortable, especially more than the Switch. I can’t speak to souls like games but for FPS games it is great. It does help to rest your forearms on something but even without a rest I can play for a couple hours without much issue. Definitely recommend

Like a dream mate, your brain thinks it’s going be heavier than it is. 👍🏻

It’s as comfortable as a device of this size and weight possibly could be IMO, it’s very obvious they spent a lot of time on ergonomics.

I have smaller hands, and allot of reviews said that they find the SD comfortable because they have large hands and most devices are too small for them. So going into my purchase I was a little apprehensive, but I can honestly say it is the most comfortable controller/handheld device I have used. Obviously everyone is different and ymmv but over all the SD is extremely comfortable to hold.

I’ve had a lot of hand and arm issues and find the switch to be very uncomfortable without a satisfye grip. The steam deck on the other hand has been great for me. It’s much more natural than the switch and I’m hoping the LE OLED is even better for me weight wise.

It’s the most comfortable handheld I’ve ever used. It makes me wonder how I used a 3DS for so many years, haha.
