8-10 ozs isn’t much and that’s a bit troubling. That’s because if it cleared the low-oil warning light it only just BARELY clears it, leaving a potentially much larger volume of oil you should have available that’s not there.
Check oil level with the dipstick. Make sure it’s at the full mark.
What year and mileage? You could call Mazda roadside assist, any remaining original warranty is still in effect. If it’s Certified Preowned you may have roadside assist for that too.
That irks me no-end on my 2021 M3 sedan. Why they make us open the trunk to drop the seat backs makes no sense whatsoever.
Oh yeah…the key fob is pretty cheap online. It’s the programming that makes it work for your car, though, and unless you can find someone with the tools (and does it cheaper) you have to go back to the dealer for that and that’s going to be the expensive part.
Buying a replacement shell is a great idea, though, if that’s all that’s broken.
Headlight replacements (not just the bulbs) were expensive before this but it seems have become much more so since LED headlights became the “norm”.
I read where DOT approval requires inclusion of a leveling capability, which my '21 M3 has, for all LED headlights. If THAT’s true the motors and linkages might be built into the assembly making it a pretty complicated part to replace. Crazy to think the cost of replacing headlamps (around $4000 for both) could come in third to that of replacing engine or transmission. And that’s just for styling, not even minimal functionality.
You don’t even need to have proof of scheduled maintenance…UNLESS there’s a question about whether it didn’t get it and that was relevant to the failure. That’s where it does help and simply keeping a record (write date/miles of the service in the back of the owners manual) will go a long way to prove you did it.
A record and receipts are also really good to get top dollar for a well maintained used car sale, although really only for a private sale. Dealers could care less for a trade-in since they’ll still give bottom-dollar on a trade even though they tell you how great it it.
On my 3 it’s the INFO button which just changes the info screen on the center/digital gauge cluster to show something else.
As I increase speed I also hear a whine. But in my case it’s my wife.
What kind of warranty comes with it? Price can depend a lot on what the dealer offers with it: a 12mo/12Kmile power train warranty can raise the price quite a bit from what KBB shows, even a 3mo/3Kmile can.
Look for ANYTHING to pick at and make a big deal of it to get a concession from the dealer. One thing to do is look along the side of the body for uneven or rippling paint lines that indicates body work from a crash. Not uncommon, and rarely disclosed by the dealer. It’s not necessarily bad but definitely something to bring up.

Thiefs don’t bother with piddly things like locks and actually prefer doing a few thousand dollars damage to get to your kid’s change of clothing after soccer. The only way to prevent this is to simply never park in sketchy areas.
