180k was my number. got 2 cars to that mark. But I also feel like 10 years old might be a new magic number for me. And realistically that’s gonna be like 75k miles. Still worth selling and not a giant maintenance project.

I would only avoid 2017 as first year model and all. But its like the 3rd year use of the B58 engine/trans package, so its not as big of a deal in general. Also dont care for the facelift. Still casually eyeing 2018s-2020s myself.
In a few years time you’ll be back to zero payment. And you’ll still have that dream car. I was in a similar boat before I bought my f80. Has been car payment free for like 8 years before that. Now it’s paid off and I’m thinking about adding something else. Can afford another toy but don’t need to. It’s “smarter” to save more and all that responsible adult crap. But at the end of the day if you are a car nerd that’s all the justification you need.
Edit. It we’re supposed to talk you out of it. Hmmm. Blow it all on hookers and mutual funds.
Edit2 I see the dream cars are m5 and m8. That monthly payment doesn’t sound right even for 2 or 3 year old models. Good luck.

Please don’t give bmw the idea to make minivans.
The gravel makes me nervous.
The Bangle 7 was the real crime. The 5 is easier on the eyes.
G80 was built around the auto. And also comp pack power bump is not trivial that you can’t get with manual. If I were in the market for a g80 it would be the auto. That choice is easier because I presently enjoy a f80 m3 with the (same I think) 6mt they shoved in the g80. Highway speed cruising in 6th in f80 and g80 is higher rpms that it needs to be.
Will it tip 6000 lbs?
