I have the similar C40 and my bf has the Ionic 5. We like both. The Ionic feels like a fresher design but it’s clear the Volvo rides better and is built better. Our market doesn’t have any chargers faster than 75kWh so charging speed doesn’t matter and I charge at home or work anyway. As a long time Volvo owner, all their products cost more than whatever competitor it’s compared with but it’s what I want to drive and works for me. I prefer the consistent controls, pixel headlights, and Apple CarPlay. AAOS is in many ways better than Volvo Sensus (the prior infotainment system) but the one way Sensus was superior was the fast access to many of the toggle features (swipe right)…AAOS keeps getting updates and continues to improve. It’s a great vehicle but not a great value if that makes sense. Had the C40 for a year and have not had a single warranty claim or needed repair.
